First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia Visits CEFC China and meets with Ye Jianming

On the afternoon of July 26, 2016, First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia Dimitri Kumsishvili met with Ye Jianming, Chairman of the Board of CEFC China, during his visit to CEFC China headquarters in Shanghai. They held in-depth talks over further strategic cooperation in fields such as energy, port logistics, airport, banking and financing, and the digital Silk Road. Mr. Kumsishvili expressed his appreciation to CEFC China for its support throughout the China-Georgia Investment Forum. The First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied by his delegation members including Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the PRC David Aptsiauri, Mayor of Tbilisi Davit Narmania, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia Gigla Agulashvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Ketevan Bochorishvili, Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia Party Political Consultative Committee Member David Saganelidze, and CEO of Georgian Railway LLC Mamuka Bakhtadze. Other attendees of the meeting were President of CEFC China Chan Chauto and Executive Directors of CEFC China Zang Jianjun and Li Yong.

 

The China-Georgia Investment Forum, sponsored by Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and organized by CEFC China, was held in the morning at Tomorrow Square in Shanghai, and attended by First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia Dimitri Kumsishvili and his delegation, as well as over 200 entrepreneurs from dozens of renowned enterprises in China, Georgia, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan. The strong delegation on behalf of the Georgian government consists of members from major government agencies including Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection, National Bank of Georgia and Agency of Oil and Gas. In addition, the Georgian government organized a business delegation consisting of leaders from Georgia’s core enterprises in the domains of railway, petroleum and natural gas, power plants, manufacturing, ports, airports, mining, real estate and financial investment organizations. CEFC China, a partner and organizer of the forum, invited business leaders from about 50 well-known corporations, banks and financial organizations in China to participate in the event, drawing extensive attention from different sectors. These corporations include China National Technical Import and Export Corporation, China Railway Corporation, Shenhua Group Corporation Ltd., China Shipbuilding Industrial Complete Equipment & Logistics Co., Ltd., Third Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. of China Communications Construction Company, Metallurgical Corporation of China Ltd., SINOMEC, Beijing Er Shang (Group) Co., Ltd., Beijing Capital Agribusiness Group, Shanghai Construction Group, Xuzhou Coal Mining Group Corporation, Yunnan Provincial Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Baoye Group Corp., Ltd., Jiangxi Railway Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Yingkou Port Group Corporation.
