On July 4, 2017, “CEFC China Day” themed with “Green Silk Road, Grow Together” kicked off at the EXPO 2017 Astana in addition to a theme forum during which CEFC China’s environmental technology projects on exhibition were made public. Over 150 representatives from the government and business community of China and Kazakhstan took part in the event. Cutting the ribbons are Chen Qiang, Vice President of CEFC China; Jiang Chunyu, Party Secretary of CEFC China; Lin Shunjie, governmental representative of the China Pavilion at the EXPO 2017 Astana and Director General of the Trade and Investment Promotion Department at China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT); and Katalin Dumitru, Senior Vice President of KMG International (KMGI).

On the morning of “CEFC China Day”, guests visited China Pavilion with great expectation. They saw the exhibition of advanced technology in petrochemicals, solar power, nuclear power, wind power and electric energy etc. which were presented by some large-scale and leading enterprises in the energy sector from China such as China National Petroleum Corporation, State Grid, China Guodian Corporation, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Company (CGNPC), and CEFC China. Chen Qiang, Jiang Chunyu and Katalin Dumitru, while having an in-depth talk with each other, were introduced to a closer view of the progressive concepts and state-of-the-art technologies applied in energy use and the sustainable development by CEFC China among many Chinese enterprises.

At the “Global Mission and Partners” Exhibition Area in the China Pavilion, guests saw by themselves CEFC China’s advanced technologies in new green energy through the physical models, AR technologies and demonstration videos. Zhang Yaping, General Manager of CEFC Shanghai Guohui Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the AO desulfurization and denitrification technology developed by CEFC China that could solidify sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide in the smoke so as to effectively reduce the amount of PM2.5 in the air and achieve “zero emissions”. He also briefed on the sludge-to-fuel technology for river treatment and the transformation from sludge to valuable resources.

During the theme forum held in the afternoon, Vice President Chen Qiang briefed the participants on the latest progress of CEFC China’s endeavors in serving the Belt and Road Initiative and materializing the green Silk Road ideas, and the achievements made via cooperation with Kazakhstan in energy. Berlibayev Daniyar Amirbayevich, Chairman of the Board of KMGI; Lin Shunjie and K. Kudaiberganov, Director of the Department of Oil at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan all delivered their own speech. Zhang Yaping launched CEFC China’s environmental technology projects, and Dong Chao, Director of the Midstream and Downstream Overseas M&A Department of CEFC Beijing Group, elaborated on the cooperation between CEFC China and KazMunayGas and proposed the future plan for it.
