Chan Chauto Attends the “Russia Calling!” Investment Forum

On local time October 24, the 9th VTB Capital “Russia Calling!” Investment Forum was inaugurated in Moscow. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, attended and addressed the forum. Chan Chauto, President of CEFC China, was invited to participate in the event and speak at the same session with President Putin, among other speakers including Xavier Rolet, CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group, H.E. Ali Sharif Al Emadi, Minister of Finance of Qatar, and Nassef Sawiris, CEO of OCI N.V. (Netherlands).

President Putin pointed out in his speech that, while cultivating a more favorable investment climate for foreign investors, Russia is bent on facilitating the integration of the Eurasian Economic Union and fostering stronger cooperative ties with Asian countries, in a bid to increase Russia’s investment appeals to Asia.


Chan Chauto noted in his address that the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and the Eurasian Economic Union proposed by President Vladimir Putin had been linked together successfully. Against this backdrop, CEFC China and Rosneft had forged a strategic partnership. CEFC China is looking forward to working closely with Rosneft, VTB and other business partners in Russia to promote the Sino-Russian economic ties and contribute to the accurate coordination between the two proposals.


During the forum, Chan Chauto also met Andrey L. Kostin, President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank. The two sides reached strategic consensus on future cooperation.
