CEFC China Selected into Xinhua News Agency’s “National Brand Publicity Project”

On the afternoon of November 23, 2017, Xinhua News Agency (Xinhua) officially announced that China CEFC Energy Company Limited (CEFC China), as a leading Chinese national enterprise, had become the 18th corporate member of its “National Brand Publicity Project”. Liu Zhengrong, Vice President and Secretary General of Xinhua, and Jiang Chunyu, Board member and Secretary of the Party Committee of CEFC China attended the announcement ceremony.

The “National Brand Publicity Project” is a state-level initiative launched by Xinhua to promote China’s strategy of strengthening the country through brand building. Liu Zhengrong noted that Xinhua enjoyed an easy access to a wide range of media resources and service supporting systems, which he hoped to be fully leveraged to help outstanding Chinese brands go global, voice China’s say and enhance their brand image in overseas markets.


By utilizing its rich media resources and powerful promotion capacity and extraordinary think tanks, Xinhua’s “National Brand Publicity Project” serves as a platform for Chinese enterprises to expand their brand influence, fuel their efforts in  promoting Chinese brands, and to further go global

CEFC China is a collective private enterprise headquartered in Shanghai. Over the past five years, following the grand Belt and Road Initiative, CEFC China has been proactively serving China’s national strategy with industrial development, and has achieved remarkable success in safeguarding energy security by obtaining overseas oil and gas resources, promoting production capacity integration under the BRI, as well as creating new cooperation models in the common market area. CEFC China has been listed in the Fortune 500 for four consecutive years, ranking at 222nd in the year 2017.

As noted by Jiang Chunyu, “Only those Chinese brands with their own ‘Chinese elements’ can gain a firm foothold in the East of the world.” And he added that Xinhua is a world-class authoritative media platform with global network, resources and professionals, and the distinguished communication capability both at home and abroad. He believed the cooperation between Xinhua and CEFC China will surely leverage and integrate excellent resources from both sides for enhanced brand power to improve CEFC China’s image as an international brand in a variety of areas.

Going forward, the two sides will carry out comprehensive strategic cooperation in the areas of brand story, overseas dissemination, brand promotion, and large-scale campaigns to jointly increase CEFC China’s influence at home and abroad.


It’s known that national enterprises like Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai, and Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd. have also been selected into Xinhua’s “National Brand Publicity Project”.
