CEFC China Delegation Attends Fortune Global Forum 2017

Fortune Global Forum 2017 was held in Guangzhou from December 6-8. The theme of this year’s event is “Openness and Innovation: Shaping the Global Economy”. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to convey his warm congratulations to the convening of the forum and cordial greetings to the guests. Wang Yang, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, attended the ceremony and delivered the keynote speech. Li Xi, Secretary of CPC Guangdong Province, Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, Peter O’Neill, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Alan Murray, President of Fortune and Chief Content Officer of Time Inc. addressed the opening ceremony respectively. The CEFC China delegation was invited to the forum.

Marking the 15th anniversary of the Fortune Global Forum, this year’s event is the largest gathering the Forum has ever seen, with over 1,000 delegates including foreign political leaders, representatives of Global Fortune 500 companies, leading enterprises from China and the rest of the world as well as renowned experts and scholars. At the three-day forum, Jack Ma, Chairman of the Board of Alibaba Group, Pony Ma, Chairman of the Board of Tencent, Terry Gou, founder of Foxconn, andTim Cook, Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc. shared their insightful ideas and had engaging dialogues with the audience. Jiang Chunyu, Party Secretary of CEF China, Jiang Mingsheng and Wu Hongbing, Vice Presidents of CEFC China, QiuWeiguo, General Manager of CEFC Guangdong, Zhang Weidong, General Manager of CEFC Guangdong Financial Holdings and Xu Tingting, President of Guangdong Mingcheng Industrial Fund Management Co., Ltd. attended the forum and had wide-ranging dialogues with business leaders from around the world.

On December 7, Jiang Chunyu attended the concurrent session “One Belt One Road: Reshaping Global Trade”. In his remarks, Jiang said that CEFC China is committed to serving the Belt and Road Initiative. The Company pursues a strategy of “going out” and “bringing in”, follows the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration, and is dedicated to the integration of global resources and technologies to promote the interconnectivity of domestic and overseas markets.



At the forum, Jiang Chunyu, Wu Hongbing and other members of the CEFC China delegation met with executives of leading companies based in Guangdong including Guangdong Hengjian Investment Holding, Guangdong Guangxin Holdings Group and Guangdong GW Holdings Group. Going forward, CEFC China will strengthen collaboration with major Guangdong enterprises in areas including biomedicine and new energy, establish joint investment funds specializing in biomedicine, new energy and high-end equipment manufacturing, build logistics bases, enhance the development and application of clean and smart energy, and expand upper- and mid-stream fine chemical engineering business. CEFC China and its partners in Guangdong will work together to leverage their respective strengths and explore opportunities for industrial cooperation where a strategic fit can be found.
